Human body is primarily made of water, muscle mass, fat mass and bone density. Someone with lots of muscle can weigh more than someone with a lot of extra fat, even though they look leaner. Knowing the composition not only help people to construct a customized training pattern and meal plans but it will also act as a health indicator for many complications such as diabetes, heart diseases, severe energy malnutrition, osteoporosis, age related muscle loss etc.  Now, let's us assume...

If Koreans have kimchi, then Indians have idli

You must have picked up the food culture of Korea by watching K-dramas and their TV shows. And you might have observed one of their traditional staple side dishes called kimchi. And on the other side, there's idli, mostly eaten for breakfast in southern India. Though they come from different backgrounds, you can see a few similarities if you explore more.

There are many versions of kimchi but the original ingredients that go into the recipe are cabbage, radish, and carrots. Along with those vegetables, they add a wide selection of seasonings like garlic, fish sauce, chili powder, salt, etc. to make it more flavorful. The seasoned vegetables are then kept in airtight jars to undergo the "fermentation process." Do you know where else we can find the fermentation process? In our idli batter!! The idli batter is made from a mixture of fermented urad dal (black lentil) and rice. Later they are steamed to make them soft and fluffy idlis.

Fermentation has been used for centuries as a method of food preservation. We Ferment raw foods because it helps inhibit the activity of spoilage enzymes and extends the shelf life of the food without any need for a refrigerator.
